6 Simple ways to Practice Mindfulness every day (Even when life is busy) (Link at the end)

Read time: 5 minutes
🌞Hey’all - Good morning!
Sometimes you send a simple message...
And then you read it again.
You add another sentence.
Then another.
"Just to clarify..."
"I hope you don't misunderstand..."
"What I actually meant was..."
"Sorry if that came across the wrong way..."
Before you know it, a two-line message has become a small essay.
Why?
Because somewhere inside, you're trying to control how the other person receives you.
This often happens when we fear being misunderstood, judged, criticized, or rejected.
But here's something worth remembering:
You can communicate clearly without controlling someone's interpretation.
Spiritual Reminder
You don't have to convince everyone that you're a good person.
You don't have to provide a defense for every decision.
You don't have to make every sentence impossible to misunderstand.
Your job is to communicate with honesty, clarity, and respect.
The other person's interpretation belongs partly to them.
Let them have it.
You can be understood without explaining yourself into exhaustion.
Today’s Ritual
The "Say it once" Technique
The next time you need to communicate something important, use this simple structure:
What happened.
What I need.
What happens next.
For example:
Instead of:
"I'm really sorry, I know you're busy and I don't want you to think I'm avoiding this, but I've been handling several things and I was wondering if perhaps I could get some more time..."
Try:
"I'm handling three urgent tasks today. I need until Thursday to complete this properly. I'll send the final version by 4 PM."
Clear.
Respectful.
Complete.
No emotional defense required.
3 Techniques to stop Over-Explaining
● The "One breath" Test
Before sending a message or answering someone, take one slow breath.
Then ask yourself:
"Have I answered what they actually asked?"
If yes, stop.
Don't add three paragraphs simply because silence feels uncomfortable.
A complete answer doesn't need to be a lengthy answer.
● The "Remove the apology" Edit
Look at your next message before sending it.
Find unnecessary apologies.
For example:
❌ "Sorry to bother you, but can I ask..."
Try:
✅ "Could I ask you something?"
❌ "Sorry, I may be wrong, but I think..."
Try:
✅ "I see it differently. Here's why..."
❌ "Sorry for the delay. I was just..."
Try:
✅ "Thanks for your patience. Here's the update."
Apologize when you've genuinely caused harm or inconvenience.
Don't apologize simply for existing, asking, disagreeing, or having a reasonable need.
● The "Let it land" Practice
This one is uncomfortable.
Say what you need to say and then stop.
Don't immediately fill the silence.
Don't add another justification.
Don't start negotiating against yourself.
If someone needs clarification, they'll ask.
If they misunderstand, you can clarify.
But you don't need to prevent every possible misunderstanding before it happens.
Communicate.
Pause.
Let it land.
Today's Motivation
C.L.E.A.R. Communication Rule
Before you send or say something important:
C: Communicate the point
L: Leave unnecessary explanations out
E: Express your need clearly
A: Allow the other person to respond
R: Resist the urge to defend every sentence
Clear communication isn't cold communication.
In fact, it often creates less confusion, less anxiety, and healthier relationships.
Affirmation for the Day
"I communicate clearly and respectfully.
I don't need to over-explain myself to deserve understanding."
Today's 5-minute Practice
Think of one message you need to send today.
Write the long version first.
Then cut it down by 30%.
Remove:
• unnecessary apologies
• repeated explanations
• emotional defense
• things the other person didn't ask about
If the meaning is still clear, send that version.
And when you receive a reply, resist the urge to immediately explain further.
