The S.M.A.L.L. Restart method for getting back on track...

How to think clearly when you're under pressure? (Link at the end)

Read time: 5 minutes

🌞Hey’all - Good morning!

You were exercising regularly, reading before bed, or waking up early.

Then life happened. Work became hectic, you missed a few days, and slowly your routine disappeared.

Now, getting back to it feels harder than starting did the first time. You may even feel disappointed in yourself for losing the progress you had made.

But here's something worth remembering:

You don't have to rebuild your entire routine to begin again.
You only need to restart one small part of it.

Spiritual Reminder

When a routine breaks, we often try to return at the same intensity we maintained before.

That can make restarting feel exhausting.

A smaller version lowers the barrier to beginning. Five minutes of movement may not be your ultimate fitness goal, but it can help you reconnect with the habit.

Your first goal is not to reach your old level.
It's to make starting feel possible again.

Today’s Ritual

🧘 The S.M.A.L.L. Restart

Use this five-step approach to return to a habit without overwhelming yourself.

S ~ Select one habit: Don't try to fix your entire routine at once. Choose the one habit that matters most right now.

M ~ Make it smaller: If you used to exercise for 30 minutes, start with five. If you read ten pages, begin with one.

A ~ Attach it to a familiar cue: Connect the habit to something you already do, such as walking after lunch or reading after brushing your teeth.

L ~ Let go of catching up: You don't need to compensate for missed days or do extra work to make up for lost time.

L ~ Look for consistency, not perfection: Repeat the small version until it feels manageable, then increase it gradually when you're ready.

Today’s Motivation

Replace the pressure to catch up with the willingness to begin again.

You haven't lost the ability to begin just because you stopped for a while.
Make the first step small enough to take today.

Affirmation for the Day

“I am allowed to begin again without judging my past.
Small steps can help me rebuild the consistency I want.”

Today's Challenge

Choose one routine you've let slip.
Write down its smallest useful version and decide exactly when you'll do it today.

No grand reset.
No waiting for Monday.
Just one manageable action.
