The 10-minute Money Reset

20 Notes to Self you should read daily until they truly sink in (Link at the end)

Read time: 5 minutes

🌞Hey’all - Good morning!

A bill you haven't paid.
A subscription you keep meaning to cancel.
A reimbursement you haven't claimed.
A bank task you've been avoiding.
A financial document you need to check.
A payment someone owes you.

None of these may be a huge problem.
But they keep sitting somewhere in your mind.

You remember them while working.
While eating.
While trying to relax.

Then you tell yourself:
"I'll deal with it later."

And later becomes another day.
This is a different kind of financial stress.

Not necessarily because you don't have enough money.
But because you have too many unfinished money matters floating around in your head.

Spiritual Reminder

Sometimes we think financial peace means earning more.

Of course, income matters.
Savings matter.
Investments matter.

But there's another kind of financial peace:
Knowing what is happening with your money.
Knowing what you owe.
Knowing what you're paying.
Knowing what needs attention.
Knowing what you've already handled.

Clarity doesn't solve every financial problem.
But confusion can make even small problems feel much heavier.

So don't try to fix your entire financial life tonight.
Close one loop.
Then another.

Today’s Ritual

💰 The "Money closure" Technique

Take a piece of paper.
Write down every small financial task you've been mentally postponing.

Don't calculate your entire financial life.
Just the unfinished stuff.

For example:

  • Pay a pending bill

  • Cancel an unused subscription

  • Check a bank statement

  • Submit an expense claim

  • Follow up on money someone owes you

  • Organize an important financial document

  • Review an unnecessary recurring payment

Now mark each one:
DO
DELEGATE
DELETE
SCHEDULE

Then choose one and finish it today.
Not five.
One.

There is a surprisingly satisfying feeling that comes from taking something that's been occupying your mind and making it disappear from the list.

3 Techniques

● The "₹100 Leak" Check

Open your bank or card statement.
Look only for small recurring expenses.

Subscriptions.
Apps.
Memberships.
Convenience charges.

Services you barely use.
Don't worry about the big expenses yet.

Find one small payment you no longer need.
Cancel it.

The point isn't the ₹100 or ₹200 you save.

It's the habit of regularly asking:
"Is my money still going where I want it to go?"

● The "Five-minute Follow-Up"

Is someone supposed to pay you?
Don't keep thinking about it.

Send one simple message.
"Hi, just following up on the pending payment. Could you please let me know when I can expect it?"

That's enough.

No long explanation.
No awkward story.
No repeated apology.

Sometimes financial stress comes from conversations we're uncomfortable having.
A clear follow-up is better than silently carrying the frustration.

● The "Financial inbox Zero"

You know how emails pile up?
Money-related tasks do the same thing.

Create one note on your phone called:
MONEY - ACTION

Whenever a financial task enters your mind, put it there.
Then give yourself 15 minutes twice a week to clear it.

Pay.
Cancel.
Check.
Save.
Follow up.
File.
Schedule.

Your brain doesn't need to keep reminding you.
The list can remember for you.

Today's Motivation

C.L.O.S.E.

When financial tasks start creating mental clutter:

C: Collect everything pending
L: Label each task
O: Organize by urgency
S: Solve one small item
E: Empty it from your mind

The goal isn't to become obsessed with money.
It's the opposite.
Organize the small things so they stop following you everywhere.

Affirmation for the Day

"I bring clarity to my money without fear or avoidance.
I handle small financial matters calmly and make room for greater financial peace."

Today's 10-minute Money Reset

Write on a piece of paper three unfinished money tasks.
Then choose the easiest one.
Set a 10-minute timer.
Finish it.

Once it's done, physically cross it out.

Then take a breath.
Notice that feeling.

That's not just financial organization.
That's mental space coming back to you.

It begins with finally dealing with the thing you've been carrying in your head.
