20 Notes to Self you should read daily until they truly sink in (Link at the end)

Read time: 5 minutes
🌞Hey’all - Good morning!
Someone speaks rudely to you. A colleague makes an unpleasant remark. A friend responds coldly, or a conversation doesn't go the way you expected.
The interaction lasts only a few minutes, but its effect stays with you for hours.
You replay the conversation, imagine better responses, feel frustrated, and sometimes carry that irritation into completely unrelated situations.
Before you realize it, one unpleasant moment has taken over an otherwise good day.
You cannot always control how people treat you, but you can learn not to give one interaction control over everything that follows.
Spiritual Reminder
Acknowledge what happened without allowing it to occupy the rest of your day.
A difficult moment may interrupt your day, but it doesn't have to become your entire day.
Today’s Ritual
🧘 The R.E.S.E.T. Technique
The next time an interaction leaves you upset, try these five steps.
R ~ Recognize the reaction:
Notice what you're feeling. Are you hurt, embarrassed, angry, or disappointed? Give the emotion a name instead of pretending it doesn't exist.
E ~ Examine what happened:
Separate the actual interaction from the story your mind is creating around it.
Someone's short reply doesn't necessarily mean they dislike you. A disagreement doesn't mean the relationship is ruined.
S ~ Step away briefly:
Take a short walk, drink some water, or move to another space. Give yourself a little distance before responding or making decisions.
E ~ Engage with the present:
Bring your attention back to what you're doing now. Focus on your work, your meal, a conversation, or another activity that deserves your attention.
T ~ Take back your day:
Remind yourself that one unpleasant interaction does not have to decide how the remaining hours will feel.
If something needs to be addressed, you can deal with it calmly at the appropriate time.
Mindful Insight
Sometimes, the interaction ends, but we keep participating in it mentally.
We replay the words, prepare imaginary arguments, and search for explanations that may never come.
This keeps the unpleasant moment alive long after it has passed.
Letting go doesn't mean accepting disrespect or pretending that nothing happened.
It means choosing when and how to give the situation your attention.
One person's behavior deserves an appropriate response, not unlimited access to your peace.
Affirmation for the Day
“I acknowledge what I feel, learn from what happened, and choose not to carry every unpleasant moment into the rest of my day.”
Today's Challenge
If someone upsets you today, practice the R.E.S.E.T. technique before moving on to your next activity.
Don't allow one difficult conversation to affect your next conversation, your work, or your time with family.
Give the next moment a fresh beginning.
