Digital Sunset Ritual: Thursday

Ease out of technology and into a calm, restorative night with this gentle end-of-day practice.

▪️ Power-down pause (1 min):
About an hour before bed, switch your phone to “Do Not Disturb” or power it off completely. Place it face-down on a table within sight but safely out of reach. This is your signal to begin winding down.

▪️ Blue-light farewell (2 min):
Let your eyes reset. Gaze softly at something far away - a tree outside, a quiet corner of the room for 60 seconds. Then breathe deeply: inhale for 4 counts, exhale for 6. Repeat three times.

▪️ Analog reflection (3 min):
Pick up a journal or notepad. Write just two simple lines:

“Today I’m grateful for…”
“Tomorrow I look forward to…”
This anchors you in gratitude and quiet anticipation.

▪️ Gentle movement (2 min):
Stand tall, stretch your arms toward the sky, then fold forward in a slow, relaxed bend. Wiggle your fingers and toes; shake out tension from the day’s digital demands.

▪️ Nightfall nourish (30 sec):
Take a final sip of water or calming herbal tea. As you do, softly say:
“I let go of pixels; I welcome peace.”
